A sudden fire broke out in a jute mill at Munshihat in Jagatballabhpur, Howrah, on Wednesday, triggering panic among workers and residents. Thick smoke and flames were seen rising from the mill, forcing nearby workers and locals to rush out in fear.
Three fire brigade vehicles reached the site and immediately began operations to control the blaze. With several factories and warehouses located around the mill, the risk of the fire spreading caused additional concern in the area.
Firefighters are continuing efforts to bring the situation under control and prevent the flames from reaching other industrial units. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
The incident has created a tense atmosphere in Munshihat, with authorities monitoring the situation closely to avert further damage.
